Short answer
ERP Sync lets an AI agent work the QuickBooks Online bank feed For Review queue in bulk. It loads the queue, groups transactions by bank description with dollar totals, flags suggested matches that are probably wrong, then accepts matches, adds with a category and payee, posts transfer pairs, or undoes accepted items — through a browser extension that uses your own QuickBooks session.

Why the For Review queue gets out of hand
QuickBooks Online’s bank feed is fast when every line is routine and painful when it isn’t. A few hundred lines per account, suggested matches you can’t trust, and transfers that show up twice turn into hours of one-at-a-time clicking — and QuickBooks offers no public API for the bank feed, so ordinary integrations can’t help.
What ERP Sync does in the bank feed
- Refreshes the feed and reports which bank connections are disconnected (reconnecting with bank MFA stays with a person).
- Loads the For Review queue into a working table so the agent can see everything at once, not a page at a time.
- Groups pending transactions by normalized bank description with counts, dollar totals, the rule that covers them, and the add/match/transfer mix — so one decision clears a whole cluster.
- Catches false matches — for example a real check number that differs from the suggested match’s reference number.
- Accepts suggested matches in bulk, or links a line to any QuickBooks transaction you choose, including QuickBooks Payments deposits that clear several payments from Undeposited Funds.
- Adds transactions with a category, payee and location; posts both sides of transfers; and undoes (unmatches) anything accepted by mistake.
How a typical clean-up runs
- Open QuickBooks Online in Chrome or Edge with the ERP Sync extension connected.
- Ask the agent to refresh the feed and summarize For Review by account and cluster.
- Review the clusters and the flagged mismatches; tell the agent which way each cluster goes.
- The agent posts the batch in waves and reports what was accepted, added, linked or left for you.
What to ask your AI agent
With ERP Sync connected to Claude, ChatGPT, or another MCP-capable agent, requests like these work as written:
Summarize For Review on the Chase operating account by bank description, largest dollar clusters first.
Show me every suggested check match where the bank check number doesn’t match the transaction’s reference number.
Accept all the Gusto payroll matches from September, then post the Chase-to-Amex transfers as transfer pairs.
Undo the three deposits I accepted this morning on the Wells Fargo account.
The ERP Sync tools behind it
These are the MCP tools an agent calls. Each one is switched on or off per user, and read-only versus read-write is set per feature.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| erp_bank_refresh_feed | Refreshes the bank feed and reports disconnected banks. |
| erp_bank_sync_transactions | Loads the For Review queue into a staging table. |
| erp_bank_cluster_pending | Groups pending lines by bank text with totals, covering rule and action mix. |
| erp_bank_query_pending | Filtered queries over pending lines (e.g. check-number mismatches). |
| erp_bank_accept_match / erp_bank_link_match | Accepts suggested matches, or links to a chosen transaction. |

Limits and requirements
- QuickBooks Online only.
- Requires the ERP Sync browser extension (Chrome or Edge) running with a signed-in QuickBooks session; if the extension goes quiet for 90 seconds, calls stop with “connector offline.”
- The extension is installed as an unpacked extension during onboarding; it is not in the Chrome Web Store.
- Enabled per user by granting the Bank Feeds Optimizer.
Frequently asked questions
Does QuickBooks Online have an API for the bank feed?
Not a public one. ERP Sync works through your own signed-in browser session using the extension, which is why the extension has to be running.
Can it undo a mistake?
Yes. Accepted transactions can be unmatched back into For Review, individually or in a batch.
Does it replace bank rules?
It works alongside them. Clustering shows which rule covers each group, and the rules guide covers importing and fixing rules in bulk.
